How to contact customer service and WordPress phone support directly? - Answer to your big question explained in 5 easy steps

In this simple 5 Step guide we will explore phone and chat support options for both WordPress.com and WordPress.org websites, check your options below:

Why do you need support?

WordPress, which now powers more than 40% of websites on the internet today, it is a very powerful, open source and community driven content management system to build websites, there is hardly any CMS which can compete with WordPress when it comes to developing both websites and blogs.

WordPress since it's start was an open source project which means it was available for the developers and community to do further modifications, enhancements and to build plugins to extend the functionality of core WordPress. This is the reason it became very famous content management system platform but every good thing comes with some disadvantages too and availability of WordPress in open-source mode also made it vulnerable, as complete source code is available for anyone and everyone. This does not mean that WordPress is not safe, it is completely safe to use WordPress but one should understand that how you can enhance the security of WordPress before completely trusting this CMS, as WordPress has a good amount of learning curve it becomes tough for new users to properly address all WordPress issues which causes problems and errors on the website and thus increases the demand for WordPress Support.

As we provide WordPress designing services and development support for websites, we always get this question from our users that how they can get connected directly with WordPress support, this particular question from so many WordPress users inspired us to share this DIY tip on how to contact WordPress because people find it very hard to get support from WordPress directly, as WordPress does not have any phone support (you don't even need it), it becomes more and more difficult to locate and find the right help for WordPress, we have prepared a very simple step by step guide to help users - For contacting WordPress please see all the steps below.

Does WordPress have a phone number for support?

Very important question. The answer is - No, WordPress do not provide any support on the phone.

WordPress recently mentioned a phone number on their support page BUT when we dialed the same and also as mentioned in the article by author Bev Feldman the WordPress phone number does not works, as it is not answered by any live person and no one is available to take your calls. It is actually of NO use and not helpful for users when you just listen to an IVR, a recorded message will be played to divert you (when you press option 2 for WordPress technical support) back to their online support page, this clearly shows how their support works which is completely online with No Phone Support by a real live person. So, support for WordPress.com only works when you login to your WordPress account, which we also mentioned here in this guide below with detailed instructions and steps you can follow to contact WordPress.com team.

You can simply call our WordPress support phone number, 1-877-994-9757 to contact our WordPress customer support and speak with real WordPress experts live. If you have a WordPress.org website and wants to receive help on the phone, we offer one-on-one consultation.

Another claim which author Bev Feldman made in the same article is that WordPress do not charge any money to fix issues, really? It is completely a false statement, in order to get any support (to even contact them) you have to be a paid user with WordPress.com and need to subscribe with one of their plans which are Personal, Premium, Business or eCommerce plan. On signing up with any of these plan you will be billed annually in advance. In Personal and Premium plans you only get very basic email and chat support which is not very helpful at all if you are looking to take your blog or website to next level.

In Business and eCommerce plans, though you get the option of having one-on-one sessions directly with WordPress experts BUT (a bigger one) there are only 2 free sessions available, further if you need more support and need to know more about how everything works on your website then you need to purchase additional sessions which will cost you $99 for 45 minutes of concierge support session.

Most important point to note here is that WordPress.com team will never offer any kind of support and help for WordPress.org users, though both the platforms are powered by the same WordPress software but WordPress.org has to be self-hosted on your own server / hosting. In this case, as you are not paying anything to WordPress.com, all issues related to your website or blog based on WordPress.org platform has to be handled by your own.

Steps For WordPress.com Support

PLEASE NOTE: The following DIY steps for getting WordPress.com support will ONLY work if you have paid upgrade with WordPress, as they only give support for their customers enrolled in one of their plan (Personal, Premium, Business or eCommerce), if you DON'T have any plan or paid upgrade with WordPress but you still have a WordPress site then it means you have a self hosted WordPress.org website, please see your other support options below:
